Our social contribution begins with the clients that we serve. In addition to our public and private sector work, the technology we have implemented in Social Services over the last 25 years has enabled support to hundreds of thousands of people in need. These valuable supports include; income assistance to reduce poverty, re-employment services to create new work opportunities, and rehabilitation services that allow time for injured workers to heal and return successfully to the jobs and careers that support their families.

We proudly support the Burnaby Christmas Bureau through active participation in their Family Sponsorship Program each season. The Bureau helps less fortunate families provide children with toys, clothing and adequate food over the holidays by aligning them with a corporate sponsor in their community.
Over the last 5 years, Quartech has provided individual support to 14 families and their 75 children. Our unique approach for giving is very personal and rewarding. We start by contacting each family directly to get a true understanding of their needs and wants and identify the best way for each family to be supported over the holidays. Whether it's a kitchen table, a vacuum cleaner, or the specific toy for a child, we work with each family to really make a better Christmas. Our support doesn't end with the holidays. When the Christmas season is over, we get the opportunity to provide ongoing support throughout the year to a family that we know and care about.

We are continually rewarded by our ongoing support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society (GVFBS). Each year, Quartech staff contribute generously to GVFBS, and every staff contribution is proudly matched by the company.
The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society (GVFBS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food and related assistance to those in need. Almost 25,000 people receive food items from the GVFSB each week, including: working poor, single parents, new immigrants, and seniors on fixed incomes. Food items are distributed through 15 food depots and over 100 community agencies located in Vancouver‚ Burnaby‚ New Westminster and the North Shore.
The GVFBS mission is to provide food and related assistance to those in need. It does not receive government funding and relies solely on the generosity of the individuals and organizations that are willing to donate funds‚ food and time. Recognizing how difficult times were impacting families in Victoria, Quartech initiated an annual campaign to promote giving from our staff, and now proudly contributes every year to this locally focused chapter of the United Way..

At Quartech we are committed to the protection of the natural environment and have taken numerous steps to reduce our corporate impact for the benefit of future generations.
Our Vancouver office is conveniently located within short walking distance to both Holdom and Brentwood Skytrain stations, and we encourage the use of this readily available public transit by our employees.
We’ve implemented processes to reduce waste, reuse and recycle and have defined these processes as responsibilities within our IT department. As a technology service provider Quartech maintains and upgrades computer equipment and systems on a regular basis in order to meet the needs of our clients and staff. Quartech donates all older but usable computers and peripherals to local community groups, reuses parts wherever feasible, and recycles all remaining unusable materials. Potentially toxic materials like printer toner cartridges are returned to the manufacturer for reuse through manufacturer recycling programs.
In order to reduce waste that might otherwise go directly to our landfills, Quartech has an active paper, cardboard, container and bottle/can recycling program.
Reaching beyond our offices are the efficiency improving technology solutions that we implement for our clients. These include the environmental benefits of energy usage reduction, decreased usage of paper and printing chemicals, reduced need for travel, reductions in shipping, and reductions in the requirement for additional facilities and offices.
