Simon Lanoix

Vice President, Victoria

Simon has over 30 years of experience in information technology and geospatial technologies. He is a self-motivated senior resource with experience in the private and public sector in British Columbia and across Canada and the United States. Simon has demonstrated success managing accounts, programs and large projects within industries such as land management, forestry, energy, health, social services and justice.

Simon grew-up in Ottawa, lived in Edmonton through the eighties, and finally made his home on Vancouver Island 25 years ago. Some say he left Edmonton because Wayne Gretzky left for Los Angeles in 1988. Simon’s version is that he moved to Vancouver Island to be part of a small vibrant community and to enjoy the outdoors. Simon and Julie have climbed over 50 peaks along the Pacific Coast in the High Sierras and the Coastal Range. Most recently, they walked the Camino de Santiago across Spain and hiked from Mexico across Arizona to Utah. Simon is also very involved in the community with several local organizations, including the Pacific Opera Victoria, Kids Choir Victoria, and the United Way.
